Originally, this area had three unincorporated communities; Alta Loma, Cucamonga and Etiwanda and in 1977, Rancho Cucamonga became incorporated. Most of Rancho Cucamonga is residential areas, is known as a major center for the logistics industry in Southern California. In 2006, Money magazine ranked Rancho Cucamonga 42nd on its “Best Places to Live” list. Victoria Gardens Cultural Center is built on the Eastern end of the City. Victoria Gardens Mall retains many characteristics of traditional shopping malls, there are also smaller stores that are arranged as city blocks in a grid of two-lane streets, featuring lush landscaping and metered parking in front of the stores. Victoria Gardens is also home of the award winning Paul A. Biane library.
